In accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) and with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Diploma in Community Medical Service and Essential Drugs (CMS & ED) program, a 18 months course divided into 3 semesters, equips students to practice primary healthcare using allopathic medicines endorsed by WHO, and notably, holders of this diploma are permitted by the Honorable Supreme Court of India to prescribe allopathic medications for all ailments, including infectious diseases, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Assam.
